Westminster Hall is one of the finest and largest medieval halls in Europe and has a magnificent hammerbeam ceiling, designed by Hugh Herland. Begun in 1097, the hall was rebuilt in 14c by Henry Yevele. Portcullis House contrasts its imposing facade with a generous light-filled internal space.
